Welcome to the Arabia Mountain Heritage Area Management Plan Web Site! |
| |
The Arabia Mountain Heritage Area is located east of the City of Atlanta,
and encompasses land in the counties of Dekalb, Henry and Rockdale,
including the City of Lithonia, Arabia Mountain, Panola Mountain, and
numerous businesses, religious institutions and private residences.
The purpose of this web page is to provide a unique, interactive process to the completion of a management plan for the Heritage Area. By using this site, we hope that you will be involved in shaping a sustainable strategy for the area's conservation, development, funding, prioritization of programs and management. Included in the plan will be recommendations for future actions and programs that will meet the Heritage Area's immediate and future goals. The management plan process is a collaboration of information gathering, analysis and public participation to ensure that the final plan is comprehensive, reflecting the interests and desires of the entire Heritage area community.
This site provides information pertaining to the entire Management Plan process. The Plan is being prepared in anticipation of the federal designation as a National Heritage Area. Receiving this designation provides eligibility for federal assistance, and will, ultimately, help to both protect and highlight the area's significant physical and cultural landscape.
We welcome your involvement in the development of the Arabia Mountain Heritage Area Management Plan! |
